Meditation is the ancient practice of turning the attention inward — away from the noise of the outer world and towards the quiet wisdom of the inner self. It is the art of simply being — present, aware and at peace.
In Ayurveda, meditation is considered one of the most powerful tools for maintaining health and balance. Known as Dhyana, it is the seventh limb of Yoga — a state of effortless, uninterrupted awareness that arises naturally when the mind is calm and the breath is steady.
Regular meditation does not just relax the mind. It rewires it — reducing the grip of stress, dissolving habitual patterns of thought and awakening a deep sense of clarity, purpose and inner peace.
In Ayurveda, no two minds are alike. Your ideal meditation practice depends on your unique constitution — your Dosha.
Vata (Air & Space)
Vata minds tend to be restless, scattered and anxious. Grounding practices like Yoga Nidra and Mantra meditation help anchor the mind, calm nervousness and restore a sense of safety and stillness.
Pitta (Fire & Water)
Pitta minds tend to be sharp, intense and driven. Cooling practices like Trataka (candle gazing) and Loving Kindness meditation soften the edges, release control and invite surrender and compassion.
Kapha (Earth & Water)
Kapha minds tend to be slow, heavy and withdrawn. Energising practices like Pranayama (breathwork) and Visualisation meditation stimulate clarity, uplift mood and awaken inner motivation.

You do not need a quiet mind to meditate. You do not need experience, flexibility or spiritual knowledge. You only need the willingness to sit, breathe and begin.
